Basketball fans can enter the hall by bringing a book instead of buying a ticket for the match selected within the scope of the campaign. Thousands of books collected from basketball fans within the scope of the campaign every year are delivered to schools in need with the support of the Anadolu Education and Social Assistance Foundation. Anadolu Efes carried out the Bring a Book campaign for the sixth time in the Anadolu Efes - Aliağa Petkim match in the Basketball Super League in the 2021-2022 season.

One Team, a corporate social responsibility program that integrates over 40 teams participating in the Euroleague, Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and EuroCup, uses basketball as a tool to achieve real social impact in society. The One Team program works under the theme of “social integration”. Each club develops a special One Team project that addresses the needs of its own community. In addition, a player meets with participants every year as a One Team ambassador. Anadolu Efes Sports Club has been supporting One Team projects since 2014. Anadolu Efes was selected as the “European Team with the Best Social Responsibility Project” by the EuroLeague for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020 with the projects it carried out within the framework of One Team.

2021-2022 Anka Sports Club - Anadolu Efes Basketball Schools Project:

The One Team initiative, carried out in collaboration with Anka Sports Club and Anadolu Efes Sports Club Basketball Schools, focused on gender equality, equality in sports, and healthy and quality living. This initiative aimed to raise children's awareness while also supporting the United Nations Development Programme’s Sustainable Development Goals.

2020-2021 Active Life Association - Anadolu Efes Basketball Schools Project:

In partnership with Anadolu Efes Sports Club, the Active Life Association, and Anadolu Efes Basketball Schools, a One Team project was organized digitally due to the pandemic, with 20 students participating. This project aimed to address physical inactivity and technology addiction.

2019-2020 Beylikdüzü Municipality One Team Project:

The project from the 2018-2019 season continued in collaboration with Beylikdüzü Municipality, ensuring that the benefits gained by participants became sustainable.

2018-2019 Special Olympics Turkey One Team Project:

Through collaboration with Special Olympics Turkey and Beylikdüzü Municipality, this project aimed to support the personal development of athletes with Down syndrome.

2017-2018 Ocean Colleges One Team Project:

This project acknowledged that while rapidly advancing technology makes life easier, it also slows us down physically. Its goal was to encourage children to develop a habit of playing sports.

2016-2017 Anadolu Etap - MİÇO (Migrant Worker Children)

The goal of this project was to introduce seasonal migrant worker children, who came with their families to Anadolu Etap farms during summer vacations, to basketball and help them socialize through sports.

2016-2017 Koruncuk Foundation One Team Project:

The main objective of this project was to help children under protection regain their lost self-confidence through the metaphors of basketball and to shape them into individuals who look to the future with hope.

2015-2016 Tozkoparan Middle School One Team Project:

The core aim of this project was to combat early school dropout by using basketball metaphors to instill a love for school in children and encourage them to view their future positively.

2014-2015 Special Athletes at Abdi İpekçi:

As part of EuroLeague’s social responsibility program “One Team,” Special Olympics athletes greeted the audience before the Anadolu Efes vs. Sassari game. These athletes, part of the Special Olympics Movement, which aims to integrate individuals with intellectual disabilities into society, entered the court with Anadolu Efes and Sassari players and had their photos taken with their basketball role models.

Awards and Recognition:

Anadolu Efes Sports Club was nominated for the “One Team Award” and made it to the final five teams with its projects carried out in collaboration with Anadolu Etap and Koruncuk Foundation in the 2016-2017 season and with Ocean Colleges in the 2017-2018 season.

The project conducted in the 2018-2019 season with Special Olympics Turkey was selected as the best among more than 40 clubs competing in the EuroLeague and EuroCup, earning the EuroLeague Gold Award. This marked the first time a Turkish club had won the Gold Award.

Anadolu Efes continued its success in the 2019-2020 season, securing the Gold Award for the second consecutive year with its project in partnership with Beylikdüzü Municipality.

As the first team from Turkey to win the One Team Gold Award, Anadolu Efes also became the first and only team in Europe to win it twice in a row.

Global Goals Jersey #17 #TakeAction
2021

Anadolu Efes Sports Club Supports Social Responsibility and Awareness Projects

During the 2020-2021 season, Anadolu Efes Sports Club embraced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In its Turkish Airlines EuroLeague match against Panathinaikos OPAP, Anadolu Efes drew attention to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which were adopted by world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015, by wearing a specially designed #17 #TakeAction jersey. With this unique jersey, Anadolu Efes called on everyone to take action for a sustainable future.

Highlighting the universal call to action of the Sustainable Development Goals—aimed at eradicating poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring peace and prosperity for all people—Anadolu Efes featured all 17 goals on its jersey. The jersey also included a QR code that directed basketball fans to the Global Goals website. Additionally, Anadolu Efes players supported the movement through videos carrying the #TakeAction message.

Before the game, Anadolu Efes shared informative content about this initiative on Anadolu Efes Studio, featuring FAO supporter and Activist Nutritionist Dilara Koçak as a guest. Koçak explained the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals for both individual and social life, urging basketball fans to take action to nourish the planet and the future.

Prioritizing global issues in its projects, Anadolu Efes Sports Club proudly carried the 17 Sustainable Development Goals on its jersey, becoming an official campaign partner of UNDP Turkey’s Global Goals Campaign.

Within the scope of the cooperation between Anadolu Efes Sports Club and Okyanus College, athletes playing in Anadolu Efes Youth Teams will receive education in schools close to their homes, thus eliminating transportation stress and time loss. Thus, Yut players will be able to concentrate more easily on both their education and basketball. Approximately 80 players who play in Anadolu Efes Sports Club infrastructure teams are currently continuing their education on Okyanus College campuses.
